The short answer

Stress does not selectively stop glute growth, but it can affect sleep, appetite, concentration, recovery, and adherence. A smaller program completed reliably can outperform a theoretically optimal plan that repeatedly collapses during busy weeks.

Let busy weeks change the plan

Work deadlines, caregiving, travel, poor sleep, and emotional strain change how much training a person can recover from. The exercises do not need to change every difficult day, but the volume or effort may need to.

What to do: Create a normal week and a busy-week version of the same plan.

Keep the main exercises

During busy periods, retain two or three important movements and remove low-priority extras first. This preserves skill and measurable progression while reducing session length and decision fatigue.

What to do: Decide which two exercises make the session worthwhile before the week begins.

Do not try to make up every missed session

Missing a workout does not require doubling the next one. That can create soreness and fatigue that disrupt another week. Return to the planned sequence and let long-term repetition do the work.

What to do: Completing most of a month's training is progress, not a reason to restart from zero.

The perfect plan works regardless of your life.

A plan is effective only when its dose, schedule, and complexity fit the person who must repeat it.
