The short answer

Carbohydrate is a useful fuel for repeated high-intensity work and helps replenish muscle glycogen. You do not need a special carb formula to grow glutes, but chronically low intake can make high-volume training feel harder for some people. Total energy, protein, and a sustainable diet remain the priorities.

Fuel the work you actually do

A short, low-volume session has different needs from a long lower-body workout. Sports-nutrition guidance scales carbohydrate to training demand rather than assigning one universal number.

Keep priorities in order

Carbohydrate does not replace adequate calories or protein. It supports the quality and recovery of training, which is the local stimulus. Very restrictive diets can also make it harder to eat enough total energy for growth.

Choose foods you digest well

Rice, oats, potatoes, fruit, bread, pasta, legumes, and other carbohydrate foods can all fit. Fiber-rich meals are valuable generally but may feel uncomfortable immediately before training for some people.
